Vitamins are substances that are found in many of the foods we eat and are essential for good health. Water-soluble vitamins such as Vitamin C and the B group of vitamins, on the other hand are processed by the body fairly quickly, traveling through the bloodstream and whatever is not used comes out when you urinate. So these kinds of vitamins may need to be replaced more often.
